Gujarat is one of them. Besides rich Indian traditions and culture, medieval constructions and unspoiled beaches, Gujarat is also known for its ancient tribes. On the 12 nights and 13 days of the Gujarat Tribal Tour, you will explore the various traditions of tribes, meet the locales and witness their culture and lifestyle.

Itinerary
- Day 1 : Arrival In Ahmedabad
When you arrive at Ahmedabad airport, our representative will greet you and assist you in check-in at the hotel. Relax for a while. At first, you will explore the Gandhi Ashram, situated on the Sabarmati River, which was set up by Mahatma Gandhi in 1915. People also recognize this as Satyagraha Ashram, as it was the major center of India’s freedom movement for many years. It was the same place where the famous Dandi March was begun by Mahatma Gandhi in 1930. The simple cottage named Hridaya Kunj, where Mahatma Gandhi lived, is now a national monument. - Day 2 : Ahmedabad - Poshina
After having a traditional breakfast, you will move towards Poshina. Once reached, complete all the formalities and check-in at the hotel. Explore the Poshina village. Here, you will get to meet the Garasia tribe. At Poshina village, you will find a number of artisans, including potters, tribal arrow crafters and blacksmiths. Also, you will find terra cotta horses, ornate sheathed daggers and silver tribal jewellery in Poshina bazaar. There are Garasia and Bhil tribes, known for their artistic ornaments and colourful attires.Dinner & Overnight.
- Day 3 : Poshina
After having breakfast, your 3rd day is booked for Danta village excursion, where you will meet the Dungri Garasia tribes. One can find Garasia tribe in two states, Rajasthan and Gujarat. Garasia resembles Bhil tribe in many ways. There is animal husbandry and sustainable agriculture. Dinner & Overnight.
- Day 4 : Poshina - Patan - Modhera - Dasada
Finish your breakfast, drive to Dasada. On the way visit Modhera and Patan. In Patan Village, you will find Salvi community weaving Patola. You can see their weaving work. Also, you will get to learn the weaving of Mushroom fabric that is made as a blend of cotton and silk forming the dying, backing and design thereafter. Further, you will visit the Patan Step Well, constructed by the Kind Bhimdev’s wife, Udaymati. The Gujarat’s architecture of water wells is exemplary and marvelous. You can find magnificent carved images on the walls of this step well. After that, explore Modhera Sun Temple, which is dedicated to Sun. It was constructed in 1026 AD when the Solanki King Bhima was in power. This temple shows the revolution of Indo-Aryan Hindu Temples. After exploring the Modhera Sun Temple, depart to Dasada. Once reached. Dinner & Overnight.
- Day 5 : Dasada
Post breakfast, enjoy a jeep safari ride to observe the popular wild ass in the Little Rann of Kutch. Besides, you will also get to see the Nilgai or Blue Bull, Blackbuck (Indian antelope), Jungle and desert cats, Indian fox, desert fox, Indian wolf, graceful chinkara, hyenas as well as migratory birds like Storks, ducks, cranes, pelicans and flamingos etc. After that, get back to the hotel. Have your lunch. Thereafter, explore the Bhairwad and Rabari tribal villages. After that, you will get to explore the rural Kharapat and Vadiara Rabaris, recognized for their embroideries. You will visit the Ambala village, where you will see Bharwad goatherds and shepherds and silk-weavers colony. You may also explore many other societies including Siddis, Padhars, Jaths, Bajanis and the Semi-nomadic Mirs.Dinner & Overnight.
- Day 6 : Dasada - Bhuj
After having breakfast, drive towards Bhuj. Once reached, check-in at the hotel. You will need to get permit from the collector to explore the Bhuj tribe. After that, you can walk around the nearby market.Dinner & Overnight.
- Day 7 : Bhuj
Have your breakfast. Your 7th day is scheduled for Banni villages excursion. Here, you will visit many tribes including Harijan, Jat, Mutva and Meghwal in the villages of Dhordo, Ludiya and Hodka.
BANNI: You will get to meet Harijans in Banni of Kutch. Harijans were migrated from Rajasthan. They use Kudi, Kharek and Kambira stitches in embroidery. They build beautiful pouches, waistcoats and wall hangings in Kharek stitch and do beadwork on belts, toys, bracelets and handheld fans.
HODKA: Hodka is derived from “Hodi”, a Gujarati word, which meant boat. Here, potable water is available in villages, also called jheels. You can find both women and men involved in mud work, beautiful embroidery and leather craft in Hodka.
LUDIYA VILLAGE: In this village, there are two main communities, Muslims and Harijans. Their main occupations are cattle rearing, monsoon farming, intricate embroidery, intricate wood carving, wall painting and mud work.
DHORDO: Dhordo is famous for magnificent mud houses with fine Mutwa embroidery and mirror work.Dinner & Overnight at hotel while returing from Dhordo. - Day 8 : Bhuj
After having breakfast, you will explore Bhujodi village. You will find the artisans weaving blankets and thick shawls in Bhujodi. The tradition of weaving blankets and shawls from sheep hair came into life many generations ago. After visiting Bhujodi, you will move to Tundav, where you will explore Rabari villages, where you will get to know that 200 Rabari families reside there. Here, the women wear black woolen clothes. Thereafter, explore Nirona village to get knowledge of lacquered wooden goods production. Also, you will get the opportunity to meet many artisans known for their crafts, including lacquered woodwork, copper bell making, Roghan painting clothes and weaving wool etc. Dinner & Overnight.
- Day 9 : Bhuj - Dholavira - Wankaner
After having a scrumptious breakfast, depart to Wankaner. Visit Dholavira, a deserted village to explore its sites on the way. Once reached Wankaner.Dinner & Overnight.
- Day 10 : Wankaner - Jambughoda
Have your breakfast, get ready to explore Lothal remains, known for Harappan civilization. Thereafter, explore an ancient fortified city, Champaner. Regarding the name, there are two stories known. Some believe that it is named after the city’s founder, Champaraj, while for others, it is because of the tree Champa which was found here. After that, explore an ancient fort, Champaner Fort, situated at Pavagadh foothills. It was captured by a popular Gujarati muslim king, Mohammed Begada in the 15th century. - Day 11 : Jambughoda (Chhota Udaipur)
After having breakfast, your 11th day is scheduled for Chhota Udaipur excursion to explore the Nayak and Rathwa tribes. Also, walk around the Udaipur weekly market. You will also find the local house painted in Pithora.Dinner & Overnight.
- Day 12 : Jambughoda - Ahmedabad
After having breakfast, depart to Ahmedabad. Once reached, check into the hotel and stay overnight.
- Day 13 : Ahmedabad Departure
Post breakfast, move towards Ahmedabad international airport to board the flight for the home destination.
