Overview
This tour covers the Indian kingdoms that existed around 500 years ago. The Kingdoms of Northeast covers 12 nights and 13 days to help you explore the kingdoms’ ruins in northeast India. You will travel across Guwahati to Kaziranga, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Kohima, Touphema and Shillong. The aura and scenic beauty of these destinations are incredible because of their cultural influence.

Itinerary
- Day 1 : Arrival In Guwahati
When you reach Guwahati airport, our representative will welcome you and assist you in shifting into the hotel. Complete all the formalities and check into the hotel. Relax for the day. Enjoy walking around the nearby areas, meet the locales, and enjoy street food, etc. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.
- Day 2 : Guwahati - Kaziranga
After having breakfast, get ready to visit Kaziranga National Park (around 220km). Check into the jungle resort. You will visit the Tea estates and local tribal villages in the afternoon. Do not miss the opportunity to talk to the tribal people and know about their culture and lifestyle. These people are known for their extraordinary hospitality. Witness the breathtaking lush gardens at Tea Estates. Also, get involved in understanding the processing of tea. Get back to the resort to stay overnight.
- Day 3 : Kaziranga
Have a traditional breakfast and get ready for an adventurous elephant safari to explore the Kaziranga National Park. After that, enjoy the jeep safari as well. Return to the resort and have lunch. Continue with your jeep safari after lunch. Get back to the resort in the evening to stay overnight.
- Day 4 : Kaziranga - Kohima - Touphema
In the early morning, post breakfast, move towards Kohima (5 hrs) by car. Once reached, have your lunch and relax for a while. Then, move ahead to Touphema Tourist Village, which is around 41km away. Check into the village resort and take some rest. You may explore the nearby areas and meet locales. Get back to the resort to stay overnight.
- Day 5 : Touphema - Kohima - Dimori Cove - Kohima
Have your breakfast and explore the Touphema village. After that, move towards Kohima by car, where you will explore the WWII Cemetry situated in the city’s heart. Get ahead to Bayani hill, where you will explore the State Museum. Here, the glimpses of Naga’s heritage through handicrafts and handlooms, Naga’s rich culture, artifacts, coins, tools and implements, ancient weapons, jewelry and gems, etc. After having lunch, move towards KepfizhaDimori Cove Guesthouse. To trek to Japfu Peak, Dimori Guest house is the camping point. Here, you will spot a large quantity of Rhododendron trees. In the valley of northeast India, Japfu is the best destination to explore. Move around the village Angami in Jakhama and return to Kohima. Arrive at your hotel and stay overnight.
- Day 6 : Kohima - Khonoma - Kohima
After breakfast, drive to Khonoma and visit the Angami tribal village. Angamiphizo or “The Father of Naga National Movement,” was started in Angami Tribal village. It is situated on the top of hillock and offers a breathtaking view of lush greenery to the tourists. Walk around the village and meet the locales. Get back to Kohima and reach the hotel to stay overnight.
- Day 7 : Kohima - Dimapur - Sivasagar
After having breakfast, in the early morning, depart to Sivasagar or Sibsagar. Halt at Dimapur on the route to visit the Kachari Kingdom. Explore the Kachari Kingdom and move towards the Ahom Kingdom. Ahom Kingdom was under Ahom Kings’s reign before the rule of the British. Check into the hotel to stay overnight.
- Day 8 : Sivasagar - Jorhat
Post breakfast, visit Charaideo, which is a burial ground. You will get to see the Madams(structures) of Ahom kings. After that, visit Taj Ahom Museum. Move to Jorhat by car in an hour. Check into the hotel and relax for a while. You may choose to explore the nearby areas. Stay overnight.
- Day 9 : Jorhat
After breakfast, it is the time to visit Assam’s tea-capital, Jorhat. Here, the room of Thengal Mansion has been booked for your stay. This is the ancient house of a tea planter. It is located around 15km away from Jorhat. You may witness the traditions and rich culture of Assamese people at this place. Walk around the nearby areas, meet the people and enjoy street food. Stay overnight.
- Day 10 : Jorhat - Shillong
After having breakfast, move to Shillong, around 6 hrs driving. VistBarapaniUmiam Lake on the route. This beautiful lake is all surrounded by Sylvan Hills. After that, check into the royal heritage castle of Tripura, take some rest and explore the nearby areas. Stay overnight.
- Day 11 : Shillong
After having breakfast, your 11th day of The Kingdoms of the Northeast tour is booked for the Shillong sightseeing tour. In the past, Shillong was Assam’s capital. Now, you may find Khasi Highland Tribes here and explore their culture and traditions. Thereafter, visit some beautiful places like Hydari Park, Shillong Peak, Elephanta Falls and Ward Lake etc., and admire their phenomenal beauty. Get back to the castle and stay overnight.
- Day 12 : Shillong - Guwahati
After breakfast in the morning, move to Guwahati by car. Check into the pre-decided hotel and take some rest. After that, enjoy your day in Guwahati. Known as the gateway to the India- Northeast, Guwahati has many tourist attractions to explore, including Assam State Zoo, Temples of Hajo, ShrimantaShankardevaKalakshetra and Saraighat bridge, etc. Stay overnight at the hotel.
- Day 13 : Guwahati Departure
Post breakfast, get ready to move to Guwahati airport to board the flight for the home destination.
